Turkey Inflation Slows

Turkey inflation rate dropped to 7.28% in September from 8.05% a month earlier, beating the median estimate of 7.87% in a Bloomberg survey. Food prices rose an annual 4.16% through last month, down from 6.19% in August, the state statistics office said in a statement on Monday. An index of core inflation that excludes volatile items such as food and tobacco prices slowed to 7.69% from 8.41% the previous month. The lira was trading 0.3% lower at 3.007 per dollar in Istanbul.
