Hungary Jobless Rate Falls

The average unemployment rate in Hungary between ages 15 and 74 was 6.8% in May-July, the Central Statistics Office has said, NewsNow reported. The jobless rate was down from 8% year-on-year and from 6.9% in April-June. The number of unemployed averaged 305,800 in May-July and the number of employed averaged 4,223,800. A total of 48.2% of the unemployed had been seeking work for one year or more, with the average time 19.3 months. There were 3,009,600 economically inactive Hungarians–those neither employed nor seeking work–in May-July.
