RICHT Launches First Iranian Art, Culture Magazine

The Research Institute of Cultural Heritage and Tourism has launched a monthly magazine titled “Iran’s Honarnameh”, literally meaning “book of art”, to promote ancient Iranian art and culture. It is the first regularly published title specifically dedicated to that purpose, ILNA reported on Tuesday. “The Honarnameh magazine has come forward, though after decades of delay, to shoulder the heavy burden of introducing Iran’s rich history, culture, traditions, art styles and handicrafts to the world,” Senior Editor Hekmatollah Mollasalehi said in an editorial in the first edition. “Such a publication as ‘Honarnameh’ was notably missing from the publishing community of Iran, the land of music, colors, turquoise domes… and love and mysticism,” the renowned archeologist wrote. The editor-in-chief of the magazine is Mohammad Beheshti, head of the RICHT.
