More than 2.1 million Iranian tourists visited Turkey in 2019 to register an increase of 5.05% compared to 2018.
As data released by Turkey’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism shows, Iranians accounted for 4.67% of all foreign tourists visiting Turkey last year.
In fact, Iran was Turkey’s fifth biggest source of tourists in 2019 after Russia, Germany, Bulgaria and the UK.
In December alone, 134,768 Iranians visited Turkey, up by 25.31% compared to the same month of 2018.
Iranians accounted for 6.27% of all foreign tourists visiting Turkey in December.
