Younes Delfi of Iran U23 football left the squad after their first match in the Asian Games 2018 against Saudi Arabia in Jakarta on Wednesday for the Netherlands to attend PSV Eindhoven football club medical test.
Playing for Esteghlal Khuzestan FC in the Persian Gulf Pro League, Delfi has recently been linked to PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands top flight football league, Eredivisie.
The Dutch club finished first in the previous season of Eredivisie and got a quota to partake in the upcoming UEFA Champions League.
Despite being in the Iran roster for the Asian Games, Delfi was allowed to leave the team, by the Croatian manager Zlatko Kranjcar, to take a flight to the Netherlands and decide his future.
Delfi is seemingly following in the footsteps of Alireza Jahanbakhsh, who played for AZ Alkmar in the Dutch football league and sealed a move to Brighton FC in the England Premier league after the 2018 Russia World Cup.
Delfi drew the attention of foreign clubs after his performance in the U17 FIFA World Cup in India last year.
Now 17, Delfi can make a name for himself and a fortune for Esteghlal Khuzestan as the club receives $550,000 share from his deal and 20% of his next deal in case of resale.
He is a lively right winger very much cast from the traditional mold of the position in that he loves to get up and down the touchline.
He is also an adept dribbler in one-on-one situations, where he does not only rely on pace to beat his rival but also a high level of technical capability.
