Persepolis football club says it will follow the foreign currency policy announced by the Central Bank of Iran to replace the US dollar with the euro.

According to IBENA, the club said in an official announcement that it will replace the greenback with the euro when paying foreign managers and football players hired by the Reds.

Future contracts between Persepolis and those who join the club from outside the country will be in euros.

President Hassan Rouhani’s administration on April 18 officially discarded the USD as the currency of choice for financial reporting and opted for the single European currency.

As per a directive approved by the government on Wednesday, all ministries and state-owned organizations and companies are obliged henceforth to prepare and present official financial statements using the euro.
