Khaledan Enters Second Stage of Turkish Tennis Cup

Tennis player Shahin Khaledan entered the second round of International Tennis Federation Futures Cup in Antalya, Turkey, January 20-28.

According to the website of the games Itftennis.com, 64 tennis players entered the competition. Khaledan beat Cristian Florentin Voinnea from Romania in the first game.

Khaledan faced his countrymate Anoosha Shahgholi in his second match and defeated him to enter the third and last match at the qualification level.

In the third and last round, Koray Kirci of Turkey lost to Khaledan and the Iranian stepped into round of 32 the matches.

In the next match Khaledan will play Fran Zvonimir Zgombic from Croatia to test his mettle and if victorious will enter the round of 16.

The tennis players will battle over $15,000 prize money.

Iran attended the games with five players four of which had little if any chance of passing the first round and bowed out.

The team is preparing for the 2018 Davis Cup that opens on February 2 and after four rounds will end Nov. 25.
