Iran to Play 5 Rivals in FIVB World Championship

The timetable for matches during the FIVB Men’s World Championship, September 9-30 in Italy and Bulgaria, has been released.

According to the program, Iran national volleyball team will play against Puerto Rico, Bulgaria, Cuba, Poland, and Finland respectively, Varzesh3.com reported.

The first match for Iran is slated for September 12 against Puerto Rico. On the next day the team will line up against the Bulgarians.

Cuba will be Iran’s third rival on September 15 and the national volleyball players will meet their toughest rival Poland on September 17. Finland will be the last rival in the group matches and the game is slated for September 18.

A total of 24 teams will play at the World Championship in nine venues. Six of the venues are in Italy and the rest in Bulgaria.

It is the first time in the history of the game that two countries are co-hosting the world event.
