7 Judokas to Compete in Tunis Grand Prix

Iranian judokas will participate in the Tunis Judo Grand Prix slated for January 19-21 as their first international appearance of the year 2018.

According to www.ijf.org, 405 judokas from 47 nations will be at the first international tournament next year.

Iran’s seven-man squad will compete in six weight categories. Qasem Nourizadeh and Alireza Khojasteh will compete in the -66kg weight class. In the -73kg, Mohammad Mohammadi-Barimanlu will be on the mattress.

In the category of -81, Saeed Mollaei will meet his rivals. Mollaei, 25, took bronze in the 2017 Budapest World Judo Championships to win the first international judo medal for Iran after 10 years.

Hamidreza Sajadi-Far and Ramin Safavieh will compete in the games in the same weight class of -100kg. Also Javad Mahjoub the heaviest member of the team will test his mettle in the games in the +100kg category.
