Para Cyclists Prepare for Malaysia Asian Championships

Iran Sports Federation for the Disabled will send three para-cyclists to the 7th Para Asian Track Championships in Kuala Lumpur, February 16-20.

Mehdi Mohammadi, Alireza Ghasemi, and Bahram Soleimani are the para-cyclists will participate under the management of Alireza Makvandi, ISNA reported.

In order to prepare the cyclists, the team has been training since mid-December and its sessions will continue until January 10 in Ahvaz, Khuzestan Province, said Farhad Asfouri, head of Iran Para-Cycling Federation.

Cyclists will compete in three categories, including 1km para-cycling, sprint, and individual pursuit.

Asfouri said the cyclists’ performance will be analyzed on the sidelines of the games in order to evaluate their ability to take part in the third Asian Para Games in Indonesia, October 6-13, 2018.

Hosted by Jakarta, 42 nations will compete in 17 different sports.
