Iran’s snooker squad finished with one silver and one bronze medal at the Doha International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) World Snooker Championships, November 17-27.

According to Varzesh3.com, Amir Sarkhosh lost the final match to the world champion and title winner, Pankaj Advani, from India, 8-2 and came second in the tournament. Ehsan Heidari took bronze.

Iranian judges were also present at the tournament. Behzad Biabani-Moqadam, Mohammad-Aqil Morshedi, Samira Sadat Sanati, Ali Jadidi, Farhad Mohammadi and Pantea Sadeqi from Iran sat in the international judging panel.

Snooker is played on a rectangular table covered with a green cloth, or baize, with pockets at each of the four corners and in the middle of each long side. Using a cue and 22 colored balls, players must strike the white ball (cue ball) to pot the remaining balls in the correct sequence, accumulating points for each pot.
