Junior Rowers Win 4 Medals in Singapore

Iran men’s rowing team won one gold and three bronze medals, finishing third at the Asian Rowing Junior Championships in Singapore, October 11-14.
In three final encounters of the continental sportive event, young Iranian rowers met rivals and managed to scoop one more bronze medal, Mehr News Agency reported.
The Iranian squad comprised Reza Ghahramani, Shirzad Ghaderi, Karo Hosseini and Milad Allahverdian who landed third in a final race. Teams from Uzbekistan and China occupied the first and second positions in the same division.
Hanieh Bidad, Iranian female rower took bronze in single scull, collecting an Olympic quota spot.
Adding to their earlier medals, the Iranian outfit wrapped the event with one gold and three bronze trophies.
Meanwhile, in women’s double sculls event, Fatemeh Safari and Kimia Zarei came in fourth after China, Japan and Thailand.
