Freestyle wrestlers Younes Emami and Kamran Qasempour took two medals for Iran at the 10th Dmitry Korkin Cup.

Competing in the 65 kg class, Emami defeated his Mongolian, Uzbek and Japanese rivals to reach the finals where he overwhelmed his Russian opponent to clinch the gold medal and a cash prize of $2,000.

In the 85 kg category Qasempour won the bronze medal, IRNA reported

The international championship, in memory of honored Russian couch Dmitry Korkin, was held September 30-October 1 in Russia.

Athletes from 19 countries, including Iran, Turkey, Japan, Finland, Bulgaria, Romania, South Korea and Georgia competed.

Held annually in the Republic of Sakha, the event aims to propagandize and popularize freestyle wrestling, help improve sporting the skills of freestyle wrestlers and strengthen regional and international sport relations.
