Iranian taekwondo practitioner Marjan Salahshouri claimed Iran’s 17th gold medal on day 7 of the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, on Friday.
Salahshouri won the gold in the Women’s Individual Poomsae, Tasnim News Agency reported.
More than 6,000 athletes and team officials are representing 65 countries in the games.
The 2017 AIMAG opened in the Turkmen capital on September 17 and will end on September 27.
Turkmenistan is on the top of the medal table with 182 medals (69 gold, 51 silvers and 62 bronzes).
Iran has claimed second spot with 71 medals (17 gold, 14 silvers, 40 bronzes), while Uzbekistan is third with 78 medals (16 gold, 19 silver and 43 bronze).
