According to afc.com, Shahrzad Mozafar’s men took their tally to 43 goals in the tournament as they swept past Thailand. With the win, Iran remains unbeaten in the tournament.

“We are really good and especially today, we showed our skills at dribbling, we were faster than them and we took advantage of it in the one-on-one occasions,” said Iran’s player Ali Asghar Hassan.

“For the first 12 to 14 minutes we played very well. Then we had chances. After the red card everything changed”, said Thai coach Jose Maria Pazos Mendez after Kritsada Wongkaeo received a 13th-minute red card. “We lost our concentration in three to four minutes so the game was over for us,” he added.

In the semi-finals Iran will face the winner of the game between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan.

The 5th edition of Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games is underway with athletes from 49 countries from Asia and the Pacific region in the Turkmen Republic.
