Although much research has not been done vis-à-vis air pollution impact on genetics, “we know that pollution can activate genes responsible for autism in babies,” said Masoud Eslami, scientific secretary of the Sixteenth Cardiovascular Congress.  Other complications resulting from air pollution include artery diseases, strokes and heart irregularities which can lead to death of the individual, Mehr news agency reported.
