A senior advisor to the Leader said on Saturday the United States and its allies are seeking to interfere in the internal affairs of Iraq and Syria under the pretext of fighting the Islamic State (IS).
The US is building an international coalition with the aim of defeating IS militants.
Ali Akbar Velayati said the IS and similar terrorist groups have been created by the US and its allies.
The director of the Expediency Council’s Center for Strategic Research also said the Islamic Republic has always supported and will continue backing the legal governments in Iraq and Syria.
