    Android Industry Income Up %83

    With more than 43 million users, Cafe Bazaar is Iran’s largest mobile app publisher. Its seasonal and annual reports enable businesspeople and analysts feel the pulse of Iran’s Android market

    Iranian Android industry’s net income reached 1.89 trillion rials ($11.6 million) in the last fiscal year that ended on March 19, 2020, marking an 83% increase year-on-year, the annual report of Iran’s leading Android market Cafe Bazaar shows.

    With more than 43 million users, Cafe Bazaar is Iran’s largest mobile app publisher. Its seasonal and annual reports, published on Blog.cafebazaar.ir, enable business reports are.

    Of the total income, the share of game developers accounted for 690 billion rials ($4.2 million), the report says.

    More than 24 million purchases, including paid app downloads, in-app purchases and subscriptions, were conducted in the online market, indicating a 50% hike YOY.

    The value of each transaction averaged 102,000 rials (62 cent) and 192,000 rials ($1.18) for utility and game applications respectively.

    A total of 127,000 applications were published on Café Bazaar, 109,000 of which were utility applications and 18,000 were mobile games.

    The diagrams show that the total number of applications published on the online service saw a 22% year-on-year fall (utility apps 17% and games 42%).

    The number of application developer teams, however, seemed to increase by 32%, with 24,000 utility app and 5,000 game developers.

    While only 27.8% of the utility app developer teams are based in Tehran, they hold an 86.9% share of the market turnover.

    After Tehran, the provinces of Khorasan Razavi and Isfahan have the largest number of utility app developer teams with a respective share of 8.6% and 7.6%.

    In terms of net income, Tehran is followed by Khorasan Razavi with 7.2%. All other provinces have a total income share of less than 5%.

    Of the total number of 109,000 utility apps, 20.5% were programmed in Tehran, 11% in Golestan Province and 9.8% in Khorasan Razavi Province. 

    Figures pertaining to mobile games illustrate that with only 30.2% of game developers, Tehran's share of income reached 87.5%.

    After Tehran, the provinces of Khorasan Razavi and Isfahan have the largest number of game developer teams with a respective share of 8.3% and 7.7%.

    In terms of net income, Tehran is followed by Khorasan Razavi with 2.2%. The income value of game developers in all other provinces accounted for the remaining 10.3%.

    Of the total number of 18,000 game apps, 36.6% were programmed in Tehran, 10.6% in Khorasan Razavi Province and 9.6% in West Azarbaijan Province. 

     

     

    More Statistics

    In the last fiscal year that ended in March, Café Bazaar attracted over 7 million new users, recording a 20% year-on-year growth in its install base.

    Total active users reached 41 million, with a 3% YOY rise.

    In addition, the users downloaded and updated Android applications over 1.8 billion times, 64% of which pertain to utility apps. 

    Tool apps, messengers, functional apps, social media apps and educational programs respectively accounted for the highest number of download and update of utility applications.

    Users rated this category over 49 million times and the highest rate (4.65 from the maximum of 5) belonged to religious applications.

    Apps for recreational, driving, action, score and sport games had the highest download and update rates. 

    Users rated mobile games over 30 million times. The highest rate averaging 4.64 was for words and general information games. 

    In all business sectors, users’ input plays a pivotal role in enhancing consumer experience and product quality, and the Android industry is no exemption. 

    Just like every other app market, Cafe Bazaar cultivates customer reviews on the apps offered by the platform.
