Iran has topped the 18th math and 10th chemistry international Olympiads held on August 13-17 in Tehran’s Shahid Beheshti University. The results were announced on Thursday during a ceremony attended by deputy science minister and officials from the Educational Testing Organization. In the math competitions, Iran managed to finish first with five medals (one gold, two silver, two bronze) followed by Russia and Ukraine with two and one medal respectively, Mizan News Agency reported. Iran came first in the chemistry Olympiad as well with one gold and one silver medal. Russia and the Republic of Tatarstan came second and third.
