Multiple-birth families covered by the State Welfare Organization receive 530,000 rials ($14) monthly per child, according to an official at the organization.
“Aside from the monthly payment, families are also provided with money to buy diapers and milk powder for the babies shortly after birth,” Habibollah Masoudi, deputy for social affairs at SWO, told Mizan News Agency.
Families with triplets or more are prioritized, “but that’s not to say households with twins don’t benefit from the service. In fact, many families with twins are also covered.”
He said the scheme continues until children go to school and the organization is planning to extend the duration.
