The first flight from Tehran carrying 230 hajj administrators arrived in Medina on Thursday morning. The group comprises officials, executive, medical, and food catering staff.
All the 230 people flying into the holy city went through a normal passport and custom procedures, IRNA reported.
The annual pilgrimage takes place from 8-12 Dhu al-Hijjah, the last month of the Islamic calendar (corresponding with Aug.30-Sep.04, this year).
Iranians are making the pilgrimage after a one-year hiatus. The two nations do not have diplomatic ties since January 2016.
