A 5.4-magnitude earthquake shook Sirch, Kerman Province on Sunday evening, sending panicked residents of the small southern city into the streets. No casualties were reported. The quake, which was followed by four aftershocks, knocked out the power grid and communication networks briefly after it struck at 10:02 pm, ILNA reported. Preliminary reports suggest damage was limited to cracked ceilings and collapsed walls. Local crisis management officials told IRIB News that seven rescue teams were dispatched to the affected areas, which included cities of Golbaf and Shahdad.
