25% More Hospital Beds Since 2013

The number of hospital beds across the country has increased by 25% during the tenure of President Hassan Rouhani’s administration, according to deputy for resources development and management at the Health Ministry, Seyyed Ali Sadrosadat. “With the addition of 25,000 new beds to Iran’s hospitals since 2013, the total number of hospital beds has reached 122,000,” he said on the sidelines of the Festival of Health Facilities Construction, which was held on July 11 at Tehran’s Summit Conference Hall. The numbers of ICU, neonatal ICU, and pediatric ICU beds have increased by 27%, 34%, and 44% respectively in the same period.
