Iran’s Bacillus Calmette–Guerin vaccine, primarily used to treat tuberculosis, has been approved in Mexico and exports will begin once the paperwork is processed.

According to Mostafa Qanei, head of Iran Pasteur Institute, BCG and hepatitis vaccines produced by the IPI were sent to Mexico for assessment tests and the BCG vaccine “has outclassed samples from other countries,” ISNA reported.  “We are waiting for the Mexican government’s written report about the vaccine’s assessment,” he said, adding that exports will begin as soon as an official request is submitted by Mexico.
