The scenic Haraz Road connecting Tehran to popular holiday resorts in Mazandaran Province will be closed for certain hours as of today until July 13.
Speaking to Mehr News Agency, Colonel Siavash Mohebbi, traffic police chief for eastern Tehran Province, said the road will be closed to traffic from 6 a.m. for 12 hours every day until Tuesday, while on Wednesday (July 13), it will be closed for only 6 hours, until 12 p.m.
“Haraz will be closed for maintenance work,” he said. The road is the shortest route from Tehran to the northern holiday destinations (180 km). To increase the capacity and improve road safety, sections of the road have been widened.
