A total of 66 new subway cars will join the Tehran Metro fleet by next week, according to Maziar Hosseini, deputy for traffic and transport affairs at Tehran Municipality. “Tehran Urban & Suburban Railway Company plans to reduce headway (time interval between trains) for Lines 7 and 3,” he said on Wednesday during a visit to the Tehran Wagon Manufacturing Company, Mehr News Agency reported. Twenty-two kilometers of Line 7 (70% of the total line to be constructed) was officially inaugurated on June 10. The number of trains which run on this line will increase gradually over a three-month period.
