The State Welfare Organization will launch 150 comprehensive facilities in 30 deprived and 120 fringe areas of larger cities across the country, said Habibollah Masoudi-Farid, social deputy at the SWO, on Wednesday.

The plan which aims to reduce poverty among people living in disadvantaged areas, has been developed jointly with the Interior Ministry and the Management and Planning Organization, which identified the underprivileged regions, ISNA reported.

“One hot meal per day for children, provision of aid equipment to disabled people implementation of different social harm prevention programs, and offering low-cost facilities for small businesses, are among the most important services to be offered to people living in these areas,” he said. Each facility will cost 5 billion rials ($125,000) to run per year.
