An emergency hotline for the hearing impaired has been launched by the Law Enforcement Forces of Iran. “We are trying to help them have access to immediate emergency services by the police,” said Commander Abdolreza Aqakhani, police chief of Isfahan Province where the project is being piloted for the first time. According to him, people with hearing disabilities can send a text message with their address and the type of emergency, to the 11010110 hotline, and police officers are obliged to show up within 15 minutes, Borna News Agency reported. “Increased cooperation and communication between people and the police will boost security and create a sense of safety in the society,” Aqakhani noted.
