Health Checks for Preschoolers

Forty-eight health centers in Tehran city will screen 6-year-olds before the start of the new school year in September, said Nader Jahanaray, deputy of primary education at Tehran’s Education Department. Registration process has begun at all centers since Tuesday. “It is estimated that in the coming school year, 105,000 students in Tehran will join the first grade,” ISNA quoted him, as saying. About 10% of the children screened are usually identified with problems like visual or hearing impairment, mobility, mental retardation, learning difficulties and behavioral problems.
