Chalus Road Mishaps Down

During the last year (ended March 20), 855 road crashes were reported on the Karaj-Chalus road, and 37 people lost their lives in the accidents, said Alborz Province Traffic Police Chief Colonel Reza Goudarzi. “However, the rate of traffic-related deaths on the road has decreased by 48% compared to the previous year,” due to strict monitoring of vehicles and prevention of rash driving, IRNA quoted him as saying. Chalus Road is an important route for people of Tehran, a large number of whom drive to the popular tourist attractions in the northern provinces of Mazandaran and Gilan, on weekends and holidays.
