A total of 3,000 educational centers are active in kindergartens across the country to teach children kindness and compassion from childhood. “In preschools, 5,000 are active in teaching kids about amity and its significance though age-appropriate

materials and programs,” said Masoud Habibi, head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society’s Youth Organization, which is conducting the scheme. There are 17,000 kindergartens in the country.

Under a scheme titled ‘Daadras’ (short for the Persian equivalent of ‘student who helps in difficult times’), the IRCS is also training school students in 8,000 schools on eight major skills of rescue and relief in emergencies, ISNA reports. There are 14 million students at the primary, middle and high school levels.
