The rate of youth participation in various political, social and economic areas though non-governmental organizations has increased by 40% over the past four years.
The total number of NGOs in youth affairs increased to 2,000 by March this year from 50 in 2013, according to the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs. Additionally, the projects devised or proposed by the NGOs stands at 1,770 today, reports msy.gov.ir.
Over the same period, the budget allocated to the ministry for youth programs increased to 4,000 billion rials ($105 million), an upsurge from only 60 billion rials ($15.8 million) under the previous government.
