The first state-run hospital opened in Baharestan County in Tehran Province on Tuesday in the presence of Health Minister Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi and First Vice President Ishaq Jahangiri. The 120-bed Imam Hossein Hospital constructed and equipped at a cost of $12 million (480 billion rials) has been established on a land area of 20,000 sq meters, IRNA reported. Baharestan County is located between Robat Karim and Eslamshahr (south of Tehran city) in Tehran province. There are two cities in the county, Nasim Shahr and Nasirabad with a population of 600,000. Prior to the opening of the hospital the county lacked a medical facility with beds.
