Nearly half (43%) of women who got married five years ago now have one child at least, said Hamid Derakhshan-Nia, head of the National Organization for Civil Registration (NOCR), on Monday. “At present, 15% of Iranian mothers are between the ages 30-34, and 70% of women (39.42 million in the total population of 79.92 million), are in the childbearing age (the reproductive period in a woman’s life),” IRNA quoted him as saying. According to the latest figures, more than 7% of Iranian women are heads of households and among them 50% are above the age of 60. Currently, 3% of Iranian women are living alone
