Metro Line 5 Closed on Fridays

Tehran-Karaj Metro Line 5 will be closed on Fridays until September 22 for reinforcement operations at the subway stations, said Ehsan Moqaddam, director of public relations at Tehran Urban and Suburban Railway Company, on Thursday. “It is over 18 years since opening of the line and therefore the stations are in dire need of retrofitting and maintenance works,” he said, IRNA reported. Line 5 services start at 5:30 am and go on until 9.30 pm daily with one train every 2-10 minutes. The other metro lines are open till 11 pm. More than 160,000 passengers commute on Tehran-Karaj metro every day.
