Social Pension for Needy

The minimum monthly social pension set by the government in the present fiscal (started March 21) for needy families covered by the State Welfare Organization, is as follows: 16% of the minimum wage ($244.7) for one-member families; 27% for a family of two; 35% for a three-member family; 45% for a family of four; and 50% for a family of 5 members and more, announced Ali Rabiei, minister of cooperatives, labor and social welfare. There are 450,000 people (mostly elderly and disabled who are not able to work or unable to find jobs) and are entitled to monthly social pensions, IRNA reported.
