A total of 4.416 unsanitary food supply units were shut down due to violations of health regulations under the Norouz (Iranian New Year) Inspection Program of the Health Ministry. “Since February 19, more than 950,000 inspections were made at food supply units covering 240,000 of public places such as hotels,” Seyyed Reza Gholami, manager of the program told Mehr News Agency. The annual plan aims to help safeguard people’s health by ensuring that public places maintain hygiene, including restaurants, motels, accommodation facilities, gas stations, parks, and roadside facilities, during the annual holiday season (March 20-April 2).
