Flooding in 9 Provinces

Heavy rainfall in the past two days caused flooding in nine provinces including Ilam, Isfahan, Khorsan Razavi, Semnan, Fars, Kerman, Kohgiluyeh and Buyer Ahmad, Lorestan, and Hormozgan.  “A total of 25 relief and rescue teams were dispatched to the affected cities and villages,” said Morteza Salimi, head of Rescue and Relief Office at the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS), ISNA reported.  Contingency measures included providing emergency shelters to flood-stricken families and draining of flood waters from residences. More than 65 cars stranded in the flooded roadways were also rescued. No casualties were reported.
