Over the past 3.5 years, a total of 110,000 children out of school in Sistan-Baluchistan Province, have returned to the classrooms. The figure was 200,000 in 2015. “These children in the 9-10 age groups were out of school due to a number of problems, including lack of educational centers, shortage of teachers, and financial constraints,” said Ali Owsat Hashemi, governor general of the southeastern province.

“Extending the national education network and enhancing both quality and quantity of educational facilities, was the key measure in bringing the students back to school, he said, IRNA reported.

Educating parents of primary school children in rural areas, and preparing a database of the core reasons for students dropping out of school followed by remedial action, were the other steps taken.
