A total of 140 academic research projects have been signed since the beginning of the current administration’s term in 2013, said Minister of Science, Research, and Technology Mohammad Farhadi at a recent academic meeting in Lorestan Province. The projects are conducted jointly between Iran and countries including Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands, Turkey, France, Italy, Canada, Sweden, Tunisia, Russia and Spain. “At present, there are 51,000 foreign students studying in universities across the country,” he said ILNA reported. According to Farhadi, the export value of knowledge-based products over the past three years stood at $417 million.
