Haraz Road Closed

Heavy snowfall on Haraz Road early Monday has led to the closure of the road until further notice, said Colonel Mohammadreza Khosravian, head of Mazandaran Province Road Traffic Police. Stating that people can use alternative routes of Savadkouh and Kandovan, he urged people to avoid unnecessary trips to the northern provinces. “It is unwise to travel to the northern parts since roads are slippery and unsafe.” Road 77, also known as the Haraz Road, is one of the most important routes from Tehran to the northern Mazandaran Province that passes through the Alborz Mountains, before descending to the southern Caspian Sea coast.
