The State Welfare Organization will implement a door-to-door program to identify and create an accurate database on addicts in the country from late March, said Majid Rezazadeh, head of SWO’s Center for Promoting Drug Prevention and Treatment. “The project is part of the preventive schemes in the SWO’s three-pronged strategy of prevention-treatment-support,” he told ISNA on Thursday. Currently, a total of 5,000 teams of social workers, 1,150 medium-term residential facilities, 140 harm reduction centers, 45 night shelters, and 250 mobile teams are operating under the SWO in addiction prevention and treatment.
