Social emergency centers will be opened in 337 cities with a population of higher than 50,000 households by the end of the current year in March. Currently, the centers have been established in 197 cities across the country, said Anoushiravan Mohseni Bandpei, head of State Welfare Organization on Monday. Psychologists and social workers are employed at the centers. “Those who want to report cases of social disorders, including spousal and child abuse, violence, runaway girls, women and street children, can dial 123,” IRNA quoted him as saying. Experts of social emergency centers also offer consultations by phone or attend in person the scene of domestic violence and abuse.
