Annually, about 50,000 complaints are filed against educational centers that come under the Education Ministry. “However, about 50% have no basis and arise from pessimistic attitudes,” said Seyyed Rahim Mirshahvalad, the ministry’s director general for performance evaluation, at a meeting in Kerman, ILNA reported. Most of the valid complaints sent to the ministry are regarding schools charging high tuition fee. All tuition fees, even in private schools must be according to benchmarks set by the ministry. Official statistics say there are 12.2 million students in the country and 12% study in non-government schools.
