Free Cancer Screening

The Health Ministry is expanding the screening project for three types of cancer across the country. “Screening for breast, colorectal, and cervical cancer that began in places with under 50,000 people, will expand to cities with 100,000 people in the next phase,” said Deputy Health Minister Iraj Harirchi at the First International Congress of Cancer Prevention and Early Diagnosis in Tehran on Saturday. Screening started in four cities of Bafq (Yazd Province), Rezashahr (Khorasan Razavi), Naqdeh (Kermanshah), and Maragheh (East Azarbaijan), IRNA reported. The screening is free of charge, Harirchi said, urging the people to visit the universities of medical sciences in the four cities to get tested. The First International Congress of Cancer Prevention and Early Diagnosis is underway January 28-30 at Tehran University of Medical Sciences.
