Currently, 60,000 trained rescuers provide aid and relief services to people across the country in times of crises. “We have planned to train 50,000 more personnel by the end of the fiscal year in March, which will increase the number of relief staff to 110,000,” said Morteza Salimi, deputy at Iran Red Crescent Society (IRCS), on Monday. There are 501 permanent relief and aid stations across the country, IRNA reported. With 94 years of experience and as one of the largest volunteer groups in the world (two million members), the IRCS operates in various areas to help reduce human suffering, protect life, and respond to both man-made and natural disasters.
