Air Pollution doesn’t contribute to the onset of seizures or ‘epileptic attacks’ in patients suffering from epilepsy, said Dr Fatemeh Sedigh Marvasti, deputy for education at the Iranian Epilepsy Association (IEA), on Tuesday. She said the 13th International Epilepsy Congress will be held on January 25-27 at Imam Khomeini Hospital in Tehran. “The two-day event will discuss the latest updates in various aspects of epilepsy including new imaging techniques, long-term monitoring for epilepsy and the latest medical and surgical treatments,” salamatnews.com quoted her as saying. About 750,000 people suffer from epilepsy in Iran, which is on par with regional figures, but three times higher than the European average.
