A comprehensive database on breast cancer was launched on Thursday in Shiraz, Fars Province in the presence of deputy health minister for research and technology Reza Malekzadeh. The database will provide accurate, up-to-date, and all-inclusive cancer information for public authorities, health specialists, and health decision makers. Data of 5,800 cancer patients has so far been registered, and data on 700-800 patients will be added per year in the system. “Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the country,” said Malekzadeh, ISNA reported. “Almost half of all cancers are treatable if diagnosed early,” he said.
