Blizzard in 3 Provinces

Heavy snowfall and strong winds in the past couple of days saw 92 cars and 455 people caught in blizzards in three provinces of Qazvin, Mazandaran and Gilan. Fifteen rescue and relief teams from the Iran Red Crescent Society (IRCS) were sent to the affected provinces and emergency services and shelters were provided to people trapped in the snow, said Shahin Fathi, deputy head of operations at the IRCS Relief and Rescue Organization. Some of the injured were transferred to hospitals. There was no report of loss of life, Salamat News Agency reported.
