International Volunteer Day on Dec. 5

The Iranian Red Crescent Society will organize a national event to celebrate the International Volunteer Day observed globally on December 5 every year. The ceremony, to be held at Tehran’s IRIB Conference Center, will be attended by state officials and volunteers from across the country, ISNA reported. The occasion is viewed as a unique chance for volunteers and organizations to celebrate their efforts, to share their values, and to promote their work among their communities, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), United Nations agencies, government authorities and the private sector. During the event, the best volunteers will be commended and a number of them will be selected and introduced as ambassadors of peace for the IRCS Volunteers Organization. With over two million volunteers, the IRCS is one of the world’s largest humanitarian institutions.
